Stepup from a 125 suzuki gs..

In about 6 months i plan to have a new bike, im going to start saving now because i expect it will set me back quite a bit, i like the look of the suzuki sv650, but would it be too powerful a stepup from a gs125, and would the insurance really sting me on it?

have you done the direct access or the 33bhp test, i'm getting a RS250 when i pass my test i think although them vfr400 NC30 's look nice and more practical too.

My advice, if you can afford it, is get the SV650.
Because it will be restricted to 33BHP, it won't be too hard on you, and after your 2 years you should be confident enough to handle it de-restricted and you will have experience on that bike, rather than going from a 250 to a brand new unfamiliar de-restricted 650.
Although I have little experience, that is my opinion.
And insurance will set you back a bit, I got an online qoute of about 1200 for an SV650 TPFT, I think.
