 |

hi i have a yamaha sr125. it has recently started to loose control abit, it doesn't feel stable, especially round the bends. also i can feel when i am slowing down, the bike slightly jolts, like the brake has been slightly pulled, then let go, then pulled.... i would like to know if anyone has an ideas about this problem?
the other problem i have is that the carb is leaking f**k loads of petrol. and i was told it might have something to do with the float height or float pin, not sure, definitely heard the word float! anyway i have no idea of the assembly of the carb, so would anyone give me some instruction please to what to do, maybe even a diagram of it.
thanks |

Handling wise :
Grab hold of each wheel and give it a good ragging side to side and check for any free play. If it they wobble excesively then new bearings are on the cards. Grab the front brake and with hands on handlebars rock the bike back and forth to see if your headrace bearings are buggered and loose.
Carb wise:
They are not that complicated and it wouldnt hurt to take it off and strip it to have a look.
I've had a couple of sr's and I think I may have a manual saved to my computer. If I can find it when I get in I'll pm you. ____________________ And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?

Hi,
this is always a good thing to read, if you want to know about carbs
https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=17124
might be a different make &/or type but the basics will be the same, especially the carb float height & needle stuff.
cheers,
