Has anyone ever had a ZXR400 and restricted it, i was thinking about getting the 1989-1990 one with the twin headlights.
When its restricted to 33bhp, what is its top speed and its 0-60mph
Thanks for your comments |

I'd say go for a newer L model, they can be had for almost as cheap (£1300 etc if you look around)
Mine was restricted for a while, ran nicely, topped out around 105/110 down a hill maybe. Ran okay and accelerated nicely, but a bit sluggish.
Never had any reliability problems due to the restrictors, they seemed to work with the bike ok and it wasn't really all that bad to ride restricted either!
Definetly go for a later L model though, much more parts available and they look better ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

I had a 1989 model, never had so much trouble with anything in my life, it seemed like every other week I had to strip it down to poke something and then it would just work again and then randomly break again when it felt like it. On the whole the bike was ok to ride, I did get a bit of fun out of it but if your going to be using it as an everyday bike and will rely on it to get you to and from work then I wouldn't bother, too unreliable for that. |
