So the BB win

Warwickshire police were today turned down in its appeal to the Stratford-upon-Avon licensing authority to have the licence for the Bulldog Bash revoked.

However the Welsh National doesn't

With the Welsh Motorcycle Show and Anglesey Motorcycle Show both halted last year by police intervention, WMS show organiser Steve Bennett has spent much of the last ten months trying to find an alternative site. After being turned down by 22 - yes 22! - venues, he managed to book Hereford Race Course for the beginning of June, only to be told just days before the show that the licence had been temporarily withdrawn from the venue. He was offered an alternative date of 14-16th August. We've just heard from Steve, and this is what he said:

The Herefordshire Council Licensing Department will not issue a Premises Licence without the application going before a full committee meeting.
They will not hold the meeting until the 10th of August.
The licensing committee might then grant the license, grant the license with conditions or refuse the application.
This is four days before we are due to open the show.

I cannot borrow the £16,000 needed for the advance deposits that need to be paid between the 1st and the 7th of August given this problem.

Without this show I cannot clear the company debts caused by the 2008 cancellations.
The company is therefore in breach of company law.

I have asked the company accountant to start the process of bankrupting the company.

I apologise to all those people who have lost money because of this decision.

It's absolutely sickening what they have done to Steve. Other shows that have been held at the showground in Builth have had issues but they have never been cancelled. It's strange how he has, seemingly, been singled out.

The police are forever being called out to deal with incidents at the Royal Welsh Show (Agricultural) and no one bats an eyelid.

Yet on hearsay, the bike show and all the work Steve/Dai have done has been destroyed.

And so the police state gather momentum

I've said on other forums that someone's got it in for him. I was looking forward to the Hereford show.

I don't have it to hand, but if you head over to the bikerlifestyle or 100% forum, he's a regular poster on both - goes under the name of Daipunk
