Hey Guys!

I thought I'll start a new thread for this model just to help all the old NSR RK owners (like me!) to find stuff and get info on tuning their bikes !

I have got an NSR 125 RK (92) and was wondering if original decals, fairings, or fairing mounted mirrors could be bought from anywhere? does honda stock them?

Is this model restricted? Can we port exhaust or intake to make it accelerate faster? How about jets?

Do any of your guys have custom paint jobs on your bikes? Can I see them pretty please Smile

Any tips on good maintenance/performance for this model??

Hello Ive got a 1993 RK which I bought from an insurance company as a write-off Ive started replacing a few bits and bobs but like you still need all the front end fairings. I got a quote from Fowlers motorcycles the other day and they quoted me £885! for all the fairings including a chain and sprocket set. Ouch. Sintered Brake pads for the front cost me £12 Brake and clutch levers were £7 each and various other things are availible second hand. A lot of work but its worth it cos' the bike is very fast for a 125!!! Razz

885 is way too much for those things.. there are people wanting to sell the whole bike for not much more!! So don't go for it!

The only thing I dont like about the bike is that it sounds really crap when on low revs!! Can a sports exhaust help? anyone got any ideas?

Cheers!

yeah Dyl :(

Its gonna cost quite a bit of dosh to get the parts down here, but i've got no choice. The parts you get in Sri Lanka are not of high quality although cheap!

Do you have any parts for sale Dyl?

At least try some breakers... there's an online service that automatically emails/faxes 200 breakers who then phone you up if they've got the parts.
You don't actually *need* fairing apart from the nose: you have to have your wiring enclosed for the MOT.

Hey Hey!! The RK - prettyest of them all! (well, slightly biased there). I've got a '91 RK and I bought it without the old fairing. I take it £885 is for an original Honda plastic fairing in all the proper colours? From what I remeber it was about that I got quoted at the bike show - with a special offer 10% off or something (don't remember - kinda ignored the guy after I found out it was more than I paid for the bike!).

I got a fibreglass one for £180, it comes in base colours, but I've got to get it sprayed up, I've looked around and it seems to be easiest to get someone to do it properly for me, i.e. build make the decal etc.. I am after some mirrors though - pinched some off an NC30 and they seem to be about right (line up with the holes in the fairing) but as for where to put the indicators! I know where they go but....I can't find any bolts nothing!!!!??? Hmmm puzzling - any ideas?

A £188 with a 10% surcharge for a skidmarx one (part no: rf11012101) in the new demon tweeks catalouge issued with preformance bikes mag.
same in M&P.

Ive just come off my NS125R-k recently on ice (bout 20mph turning right, to much throttle i thinck) & found a pannel in mint cond & right colour for £15. just need the top part now, although its not to bad, just a big cracks where the indictors punchered it.
Getting that bit plastic welded though & the hole bike sprayed in 2001 respol colours (nice).

Do any of you guys know if the engine of an early NSR125RK is the same as the later models like the NSR125RR?

Can you send me a pic of your RK if poss. Was it restricted? How fast does it go.

I tto have an RK but I still have not had the chance to really handle the bike cause its not yet registered!!! I'm getting the registration plates tommorow!
