suzuki gsf 600 1997. there is a hissing noise when i try and start. what could be the problem?? iv done a full oil and filter change and also plugs can anyone help

loads more detail needed. Is the engine turning over at all? Is the hissing more like a clicking noise? First instinct says flat battery but without further detail it's impossible to say.

If all you get is a hiss, with no starter motor noise or engine rotation, then it's either an electrical short, or far more likely a completely dead battery.

it is trying to start just as its turning over its making the hissing noise iv had the battery out and charged just in case it was that but the problem still persists

Have you knocked the carbs or airfilter off when swapping the plugs? did you go in from the front or under the tank?

And finally are you sure all the plugs are 'home'??
