Indicator bulb wattage woes.

I have just fitted a set of mirrors with indicators built in, the bulbs in these are 12v5w festoon jobbies none LED type. The standard rears are 21w.

Since fitting these the indicators are flashing too quickly, is it the lower wattage causing this?

Yes. You will need to get a suitable relay to match, or some higher watge bulbs

Or wire a resitor in parallel to each front indicator to match the resistance of the 21w bulbs, you may not find 21w festoon bulbs in the right size.
