Cathedral city extra mature, chocolate chips, and raisins. When I let it go down the lane it took the cheese with it.

Poor little bastards arteries must be like clogged drains by now!

they're really cool creatures, kinda look like mini ant-eaters.

We don't get rodents any more, the Jack Russell seems to put them off.

Nice to see you kept it alive x 2

Most ignorant scum these days would have just stomped on it and put a video on youtube.

Nice to see an alive one and a good podgy one at that Thumbs Up

Most mornings at this time of year I find a dead baby one left on my doorstep by the feral cats (or maybe the mafia have gone soft round here, meh?)

I was told the cats catch them as they're 'mouse like' but don't eat them as they taste bitter - not tried them myself! Sick

I once found a shrew in a new blue shoe. Except, that's not really true, as I'm sure you knew.

Now I feel like a bastard. I caught another overnight. It was a pregnant female, she gave birth in the trap. There were 5 tiny dead babies in the trap this morning and a very poorly looking adult female.

I let her go down the land but I doubt she will have survived. Crying or Very sad

Sad

Do animals like that 'feel' if they lose babies (especially like that) or do they just carry on the next mate?

I cant prove animals have feelings, but id say affection for babies is a pretty primal urge that developed in creatures pretty early on.

On the other hand, according to wikipedia, shrews have 10 litters a year, and only live for 1-2 years. So life is a bit manic when you are a shrew.

Interestingly, shrews have venom, in the way snakes do Shocked
