I recently purchased one of these:

Basically, it's a stick for throwing tennis balls for dogs to fetch. It's such a simple 'invention' (the idea itself is hardly new), but i think it's a quality piece of innovation and ergonomics.
Plus, my dog just loves to fetch, so he's happy too.

Well the ball launcher is a good one till my dog got a hold of it and chewed it but its such a handy and cheap investion.
I bought some crap ones in my time, Anything from kleeneze is rubbish and I recently got them magnetic window cleaners, you put one bit on outside and the other on inside , the magnet holds it while you clean and it has this bit of string incase it falls. It dasnt work it falls off I got me money back for it and all it was that crap.
I cant think of anting I have about the house thats not obvious like knives and tin openers. The wheel is the best one, where would we be without the wheel ____________________ All the breast.

I was going to say...why not just pick the ball up and throw it..however, if you have a dog that slobbers all over the ball, one of thse is an excellent idea! ____________________ I can't sing: https://laughinginpurgatory.bandcamp.com and https://soundcloud.com/laughing-in-purgatory

Ok, so they aren't at the lowest level of simple, as a lot of people haven't a clue how they work, but I find them useful and clever. ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |

It's not really that clever...it doesn't make a person who throws like a girl, throw any better at all...

It should do, it stays straight whereas cripple throws happen because people can't control their arms, if they stuff up using one of them they shouldn't be allowed outside. Their main purpose is it involves a lot less effort to throw and it goes a damn sight further (and it means you don't get slobber all over your hands as mentioned).
|
The fact that it picks the ball up is great*, but as Phoenix observes, it's the fact that it removes so much of the effort from throwing - or, using the same effort as a normal throw gives enormous distance, thanks to the principles of leverage.
*I've got a Stafford, after half a dozen throw/retrieves a tennis ball is just a soggy, shapeless lump of cloth covered in puncture wounds. The mighty stick won't pick the 'ball' up anymore, but will still throw it. ____________________ Space Monkey #7

Instead of posting 'Labour Saving Devices' why do you not just take your dog for a proper walk you lazy bitch? I bet he/she would love that much more. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |

Those ball throwers are very good for old folks who can't easily bend down to pick up the ball.
My favourite invention is the red phosphorous matchstick. You carry it in your pocket and it makes fire. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
