Front sprocket lateral movement.

When we did my sprockets and chain, the front sprocket nut was only finger tight, so i thought i had better check it hadn't worked itself loose again.

On doing so the nut is still solid, but i can move the fron sprocket along the shaft by a couple of mm - is this normal?

Hi ,if its the type with the two allen bolts that have the tab across them it may well be, my ybr has about a 1mm of play on the shaft.

Yes, movement along the shaft slightly is ok, as long a none of the splines on the shaft are damaged. The shaft itself should have no play at all.
