Im bored of the corsa already. Shes great for slow a-b stuff, but nothing serious. Cant complain for a 1.2 16v though. But i dont know whats next? If i sell my corsa i recon id get 3k at least? Research reveals some are up for as much as £3700. So whats next, something quicker, but not a killer on insurance and preferably no more than 2k. I was thinking along the lines of VTS, or is that all wrong? I'll be 18, 2 years ncb. Any ideas? Thumbs Up

Seat Ibiza. I have a 1.4 sport and its an awesome car.

They look good too. But the 1.4 is cheap on the insurance but there is no 1.6... its straight to a 1.8 turbo :\.

You could get a 1.9 diesel. They put out 130bhp and are still okay on insurance.

Saxo VTS/106 GTi are insurance group 13/14. I had a new VTR (group 7) at 18 and insurance for me was £1800 FC.

I'm afraid there is no magical car that is both quick and cheap on insurance for an 18 year old. At the time the VTR fulfilled my needs and I quite liked it, but they can't take a good kicking. Mine needed a gearbox after 6 months (from brand new). I had similar experiences with the 106 Quiksilver I had before it (3 gearboxes, 5 drivehshafts and wheel bearings within 10 months). If you don't rag the hell out of them they aren't bad though.

How can you have 2 years ncb at 18? Most companies don't accept bike ncb, and the ones that do will rob you anyway!

As said there is no magical fast car with a low insurance group, either bite the bullet and get a slow car or fork out and get a good one.

Passed test at 17, will be 18 and yet you'll have 2 years NCB? I take it you're using the peds NCB as well?

What makes you think that a Saxo / C2 will be any better than a Corsa? All these super minis have the same recipe in that they are nippy not quick and designed for in and around town. I don't picture you as the touring type so why need something bigger or more powerful. Most things bigger in cc size will be quite a bit more on insurance unless you think outside the box and get a bigger car completely.

What do you want the car for?
