Hi

I do about 90% of my mileage on a bike currently, but I do like cars as well. The Maserati Quattroporte appeals just out of perversity. Restrained looking 4 door body that nobody will notice, with a choice of 2L V6, 2.8L V6 or 3.2L V8, all with twin turbos. That is either 300hp, 286hp or 332hp (yes the 2L is more powerful that the 2.8), with a silly leather, alcantara and wood interior.

I do so few miles by car I can almost afford the running costs as well (20mpg....), and the insurance (about £1400)

Go to sort a few more of the bikes out though

All the best

Lukcy I live close to work so could walk. The Calibra Turbo gives 23mpg around town but on a motorway I can get 35mpg. Insurance is due for renewal in August and last year cost £1,300. If it's anymore this year I've decided to sell the car!

332bhp twin turbo? Sounds nice Cool

The best we managed to get out of my better halfs Maserati was 24mpg, and that was cruising at 110mph. Normally gives about 20. The renewal on that was £1400 so it got moved onto a classic car policy for £300

All the best

Hi

Top end is meant to be around 145. The only time I got it near there the speedo had gone mental, but from the revs it was about there. Acceleration is meant to be 0-60 in 5.6 for the manual, but not seen a figure for the auto (Charlottes is an auto, as we needed an automatic with a reasonable amount of go while she had a busted leg). The auto box eats some of the power, plus you cannot slip the clutch and keep the revs up to get boost immediatly, but on the other hand you dont need to back off to change gear (which you really dont want to do with a turbo engine).

Handling in the dry is fine, but the car has a short wheelbase and not much weight over the back end. In the wet it can be, err, interesting and in the snow it is frightening. Having the turbos wake up as the wheels start to spin really does not do much for the laundry bill

All the best
