K3 gsxr6000 running a bit lumpy and stalled

my K3's been stood for a year, started once 6 months ago to move it about 4 miles, then stood again, started it last weekend, finally got it MOT'd and on the 4 mile trip to the testing station, ran bit lumpy and stalled couple of times on me, had to keep revs up a bit. Guy at station said may be old fuel in it, so bought a treatment to stick in, and fill up with new fuel and give it a damn good blast, this sound like all it could be?
