Hey all,

I currently have a 2000 CBR600F-Y with 34,000 miles on it and fancy a bit of a change.

Was browsing the interwebs and came across this Z1000.

2003. 26kmiles. £2,990.

Anyone have any experience with the Z1000s? Or suggest a better alternative?

Budget is about £3.5k

Thanks

Smile

You'll notice the differnce the mileage makes on the Z1000 compared to the CBR. They are good bikes, pretty quick and relaible but the build quality isn't brilliant.

You'll notice the lack of fairing too.

Cheers

For a 6 year old bike with 26k on the clock it sounds a little bit pricey to me when you could get a brand new one for £6k on 0% finance.

Mine is an 06 plate (the year before they went for the comedy exhausts) 21k miles, kept outside, ridden all year round, sometimes I put a cover on it at night. It's survived the weather better than I thought but the paint is flaking away all over the engine and a couple of other places. Had no mechanical or electrical problems with it at all, unlike my mate who has an 03 Z1000 that's been off the road for many months with some undiagnosed electical/electronics problem.

Recently I had a shot on a ZX6R and it made me realise that the Z1000 suspension is rather agricultural in comparison...but I love it and will own my Zed until it runs no more Very Happy

i had the 04 z750
it looked great and that's where it stopped .

if you will take advise get a really good test ride as there no cbr.

finish is cheep and the suspension is as bad as you can get on a bike its hopeless.

keep the cbr or get a bigger cbr etc Thumbs Up

That's what I've just done. The guy sold the Z1000 I was looking at so I looked around a bit more and found a gorgeous (my opinion) 2006 CBR600RR. Picking it up this weekend with any luck. Very Happy
