I tend to think of the 80's bike scale which is about up to 20k fine, 40k time for major service ie camchain, 50+ pushing it.

Although say the CX's (after they sorted they CCT) and XJ's have a rep for being long suffering buggers, mates dad took a GPZ500 round the clock from new....

PS I know that my scale isnt a real one or one that most will recognise. Its the UMG scale

isnt there an old rumour around somewhere that states the Honda CG125 should do 100k with the same engine, if i remember correctly, so about 88k miles to go then .

I dont think id buy an expensive to fix sportsbike over 25k, but even the low miles ones could have problems from thrashing, so its a minefield either way . bloke that lives in my street has had the same bike for 15 years and it has done over 100k and still going strong , although he is really devoted to his bike, always looks clean! its one of these (https://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/moto_guzzi_daytona_1000_1994.php)
