Hi, I'm new to this site and a new biker.
I was hoping to find info on how to derestrict my ped on google but have been unsuccessful.
If anyone knows how to derestrict a Vulcan V50 moped, then please could they reply to this post, I am desperate to get it done as I can only get an average of 25mph Exclamation
thanks,
J

I belive all Vulcans use honda engines, if so you will probably have a restrictor washer / pipe in the exhaust, a spacer in the gearbox to prevent a higher ratio being selected and possibly a wire to cut to the CDI unit, im not sure though, it will definatly be one or more of the three. If I were you first thing I would do is take the exhaust off and have a look down the enterance to it, you will probably see a washer or cone restricting it's size, if so take it out by any means necessary. If this isn't the case you will probably have a restrictor pipe, which will come out near the enterence of the exhaust, down the side and will be sealed shut. If this is the case you will need to cut it off as close as you can to the start of it and then weld the hole up or clamp it shut. You will also probably need to rejet (put a bigge rmain jet in the carburettor) in your bike.

If you then find your bike tops out too soon there will also be a restricor in the geabox to deal with, this is normally a spacer which you need to take out.

Please Please Please, dont do any of this without speaking to your local bike shop first as I dont know you type of bike that well, and what I have mentioned may not be accurate. But its a start and will hopefully help you on your way to getting your bike how you want it Very Happy . Good luck and ride safe Thumbs Up
