It would have been much simpler if Shroedinger had looked at the light in his refrigerator instead of a cat in a box.

Same principle, you can't tell if the light is off or on from the outside but opening the door collapses the waveform.

Nah, just attach an ammeter in line with the supply and then record the values for light on or light off, then you'd always know.

I'm not getting this, am I?

You can have a similar argument for the cat. You could almost certainly detect a heart beat through the box with thermal imaging or sound detectors. Or measuring the ambient temperature of the box and comparing it to the background.

Ok then, let's make it a glovebox light and assuming the inside of the car is the known universe.
