Bike idea's.

Hi, I'm think of a bike to replace my Mito. I basiclly just want something which will be cheaper to run, and which is unfaired. Has to be 4t and preferably available in red.

I'd like a Ducati monster 400, but you don't get em in the UK. A Honda hornet 250 would also be good but again we don't get em. I'm thinking of a suzuki goose 350. Basically I want something which looks alright and makes 33-40bhp. And of corse as cheap as posible.

Also what would me insurance be like on one of those?

Is the horsepower thing because you're on a restricted licence?

Cos you can restrict anything down to 33bhp, so it could be worth looking at bigger bikes.

Well I would be on a restricted lisence, but no thats just what sort of power I want. I just want something cheaper to run and hopefully cheaper to insure than my mito.

at the moment I'm spending about £30 a week petrol, and getting through £11 a litre bottle's of oil like mad!

Just want something practicle, and If I had a 35, 36 or so bhp bike I would ride that de-res on a restricted lisence.

How about restricting a 500 commuter like the CB5? They're well cheap to run.

I won't really be wanting one till about febuary when my Mito insurance runs out. Just looking for idea's as I am unfortunatly yet to get my lisence.

What about a GS500E

There very cheap to run, and insure.

I'm 20yo and I am paying £297 TPFT for this years insurance, servicing costs about £100 inc everything.
I fill up with about £8.50 a week and if I don't ride to fast (i.e. under 80MPH) It will last for about 150 Miles.

And Restrictor Kits can be got for £100 Fitted.

Plus GS500's start from about £500 for a GS500EK (1989) to £3649 for a brand spanking new GS500F.

All three of the bikes you have listed as possible replacements for the Mito are not officially available in the UK (including the Goose).

Personally I would say go for a GPZ500. Cheap, easily available. Fairly quick. Should restrict OK.
