I heard over on another forum that this weekend a rider had died out in Wales. Although I'm not totally certain I believe this rider was a member here

Clicky.

Doing what we do we risk being injured and death. The last thing we need is for someone to come along thinking it's a good laugh to make up stories and test their l33t photo chop skills.

Please stop.

Was this the one that went into the back of a car? I am sure I heard of someone getting into a mess into the back of car and another one being involved, sadly killing the rider.

I do agree when it comes to bikes you dont fuck about with, only takes a split second

Emphasizes his point... I personally think you're lucky to still be allowed here, quit the stories, quit the goth/emo/scene and enjoy BCF, crashing or being harmed in general on a bike is not a nice experience (i wouldn't know but i can use my initiative on this one).

I wonder how long it will take the owner of the car to T-Cut the scratch out of their car.

R.I.P Biker man, hopefully they have racetracks in the sky. Thumbs Up.

Fucking seconded. Hovis lived just up my road from me, he was an absolute legend and we're all struggling to come to terms with it. We're all getting together tonight to try and sort our heads out.

Binning it is not funny. End of.

So SVhovis650s IS the same Hovis off bikerwales? I was unsure, so kept my fingers still on the keyboard.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends. RIP Hovis.

Yeah, that's him. I don't think there's many biker orgs in South Wales he's not a member of. Riding (and then getting drunk later) was his favourite thing in the world, he was out every weekend and sometimes in the middle of the week too, work permitting.

One of my friends died in a bike crash the other week, he worked at my local honda garage and was coming back from an MOT when he went in to a car, probably doing no more then 80mph, and died shortly after.

It boils my blood when people come on bragging about how fast they were going when they crashed, and my poor 24 year old friend, who was riding sensibly lost his life. Bullshitting about crashing is not funny, doesn't make you look cool and is just pathetic.

Thumbs Down

Yeah maybe if you're young, stupid, have a fuckload of disposable income and no responsibilities and hang around with people who the same then yeah it might be.

If you've got to graft your arse off in some shit job to pay for your bikes and gear, then no it isnt at all.

Yeah but that's not mentioning the pain and hobbling around for weeks and doctors and hospitals that come from it.

I was working on the assumptions where one of his "funny" or "hilarious" spills has you binning the bike or fairings leaving you with a few cuts and grazes only.

Even worse if you don't get sick pay or you're on the "self employed" scam like a mate of mine who was off with a kidney condition and an op at hospital and got told by his boss "if you're not in by next monday you're sacked"

Indeed it was sv650shovis, I told him to join here too.... Sad

I went to Germany for a few days in 2007 with him and a few others from the sv650.org forum. He was a seriously funny bloke and the sort that gave a very long lasting impression (in a good way).

Go to sv650.org to see just how many people loved the guy.

RIP dave. Thumbs Up
