Anyone bought a bike off here? If so, what are your recommendations for buying one? After all, you bid to buy and all that malarky.

Please help, a bike i want is up for close at tomorrow afternoon and it looks like a good 'un

Cheers Thumbs Up

Only a CG - so I know that it's practically indestructible anyway. It's only about 60miles. Another one I quite like is 163miles. Think thats a bit too far though. For a first ride at least. Both bikes are in good nick though.

What do you think?

Get as much info out of the seller about the bike as you can. If the seller doesn't reply to mails - don't bid.

Take a printout of all he has said with you - if anything is amiss then you are legally allowed to walk away from the deal. Otherwise you legally have to buy the bike.

I got my bike off eBay - it was a bargain, if you are willing to take the risks then there is a lot of money to be saved.

I would also suggest that you always go and look at a bike before bidding. Obviously in your case you cannot do this.

Thats what I was thinking about doing. Asking him about any marks, corrosion, pitting on the forks and exhaust (which i've heard CGs suffer from) plus the type of starter it has, when it was last rebuilt, tyres changed and stuff. Plus, i'll ask where its been kept and who's maintained it.

Useful questions?

Damn sure I do. Just reading up about it at the moment "just to see". Whats its top speed? Whats the mpg? How much is a new seat and is it screwed up badly at the moment? Would you deliver it to London?

Read they're a pretty good bike overall.

mpg is urm about 300 odd miles to a tank Shocked about 100 odd to the gallon it only does 80 but it will stay there all day i'd deliver it for the cost of petrol
