Hi All

I'm fed up with paying garage prices for both tires and the fitting of them so would like to buy myself a tire fitter.

I have been looking at these types....

or....

Does anyone have experience with either of the above?
the second seems like a better design to me, but any opinions would be appreciated.

I'm kind of scared about scratching my rims as well so tips would be handy Smile

Cheers!
Rich

How many sets a year do you have to change ?

As you will have to make one hell of a saving to make the 2nd one pay.

Can't see where you live, but having looked at online prices, i can get a pair of tyres for my bike fitted at a local shop for only a few £ more than the online price.

not many but it is being split between me and a mate.
I now have 3 bikes and he has one.

What brought this on was getting my tyres done last month at getbike in ealing.
got mugged for almost £300!!!!
pair of bt021's and 1.5hrs of slow labour.

I know I could have got it cheaper elsewhere but it was the day before my euro trip so was kind of in a rush.

it will pay for itself in about 4 changes. plus it's more fun (assuming you dont damage your wheel Smile )

You don't even need a wheel balancer. A pole through the hole and the heavy part of the wheel will fall, then you stick the weights opposite.

You're paying £18 for something that can be found in the garage.
