Look what I found in my dinner!

I really fancied having sushi and tempura for dinner on the weekend....so I dropped into Morrisons and got me some raw salmon (for the sushi) and squid (for the tempura).

Fishmonger tells me that they had run out of squid but he'll check the back for some more. He comes back with a plastic bag and tells me that they only have this huge one available. Friendly chap even said he'd give it to me half price happy days!

I go home and start preping my dinner....
I pull the squid out of the bag and this motherfucker was HUGE....i had to cut it in half to fit on the chopping board. I start to gut out the squid and then empty the contents into the sink. WTF ...what is that? Is that a fish, a newt, WTF?

On examination and much googling.....it seems to be a nurse shark! The shark had no eyes so I'm guessing it was just a wee baby one. It was all slimy, half to do with slimy squid guts and maybe half decomposing from the squid trying to digest it..who knows.

Yes, I did clean the squid and still ate it (omm nom nom nom)
NO, I did not eat the shark. Tho, I was tempted to see what it would be like

^^ Agreed. Looks like a lesser spotted as opposed to a Bull Huss - another name for the Huss is Nurse Hound, so i think Yun got her terminology a bit wrong.
