my first bike!

Hi guys

Just joined these forums and need a little bit of advice, bare with me

I passed my cbt last week and have found 2 lovely gilera runners, vx125r 54 plate the other a 55 plate, after speaking to one of the sellers, he tells me its around 13000 miles on clock, i have been told by a friend that all runners display km not miles on there clocks, is this true?

as the bike is around the 13000 mark, is there any tell tale signs i should look out for on the bike or stuff to avoid?

any help would be much appreciated
