Restore deleted files (on memcard/camera) program?

I occasionaly have to do this and usually just google for a program as it's so infrequent that I've usually got a new system before I have to do it again.
Anyway, said I'd have a look at restoring some files from a digital camera (don't know if they're on internal memory or card yet). Any recommendations for ideally free (or freely available if not) programs that do the job well?
(Looking for personal recommendations, I can no doubt find some on google - and to be fair in my experience there's not actually much difference between them.)

Not sure if this would work camera wise, it restored 30gb of hard drive stuff though!

I use Encase, from a torrent. Use it at work quite a lot, and have used it on 3 or 4 SD cards to pick up lost files. It's not the easiest program to use, but it hasn't let me down yet.

i have had very good sucess with photo recovery pro when i lost a partition a hardisk. its not free

but its freely available on torrent sites

I can recommend you Advanced File Recovery. This program helped me to recover photos from my Nikon camera.

In the past I've recovered a memory card of pictures using Ontrack Easy Recovery Professional and that recovered everything without any problems.

More recently when I was trying to recover MP3s from an external hard disk, closest I got to recovering all the files was using PhotoRec that found all the files and was able to recover them but not with the original file names. Not ideal, but better than nothing.
