I'm doing my Theory on the 29th of the month, and have been using the Focus Multimedia Driving Test Theory CD Roms. I am now getting good scores in my test questions, but I am having trouble with my hazard perception. I think my problem is that I am clicking on a hazard too soon. Does anyone have any advice on when you should be seeing the hazard and general tips on the hazard perception test?

you should generally click as soon as you see the hazard. you will be ok as long as you don't press the mouse like crazy for no reason!!!

I have been pressing as soon as I have seen the hazard but it appears I see the hazard before the computer does and I get 0 points! Thumbs Down

you could double click when you see the hazard then and see what happens. ie so 2 flags come up, or perhaps wait a second when you see the hazard before pressing

what i did:

see car going down a sliproad *click*
see it coming closer *click*
see it about to pull out in front of you *click*

I was unsure exactly when to click. i didnt know if i was sposed to click as soon as i saw something which could develop into a hazard, as soon as i saw a hazard developing, or when i would actually have to respond to the hazard. so i clicked at all 3. i was near my maximum number of clicks by the end of each clip. but i got 63/75 without understanding what i had to do, so clearly its a stratergy that works Very Happy

From what I hear from my Mum, who was also in the same dillemma as you Frosty, she clicked each hazard the first time she saw it, and then once again if it "developed"
IE- Kids on pavement - Click
Kids move towards/onto road - Click
Kids Jump into road naked screaming "Run me over" - Click
Okay the last one Rolling Eyes but that is how she did it aswell, and passed, one click for noticing the hazard, another if it develops.

don't be afraid to click multiple times as you watch the hazard develop. The computer will only penalise you if you repeatedly click most of the way through the clip. You see the hazard, click, click again a few secs later, and when it starts really developing click click click... that way you have the best op of picking up the points at the right time...

worked for me anyway (69 pts)

I did this a couple of weeks ago and passed Smile
The best way to do well is to look at everything! Even people walking along the paths and cyclists a long way in the distance.
I clicked the mouse everytime I saw something like this and it helped with my score.
Best of luck Thumbs Up
