Sounds about right for DAS so A2 should be the same ball park? ____________________ Current : MSX 125 Past : CBR 900RR Monkeybike : c50 LAC : ZXR750 H2 : FZR600 : ZX7R P3 : YW100 : TRX850: Trophy 900 T309 : GSXR 600 L0: Monkeybike : XJ6S Whosthedaddy |

Hiya,
My local school offers 3 days training and test fees for £490 for A2, £520 for DAS- so seems about right with the extra day
Hope you enjoy your training, good luck with your theory test |

After 25yrs of cage driving i'd picked up about every bad road habit you could think of. And after 4yrs of riding a bike (fear of test and apathy led to 2 CBTs) i'd picked up some bad habits. So i got a couple of books and re-learnt and then practised. Whilst doing this i booked my theory online.
I had a tight schedule as my 2nd CBT was about to expire (aswell as my tax MOT and insurance on the CG)
Theory passed and test booked.
3wks later i'd passed my A2
If i could've afforded a lesson or two i would've.
Pat

I've got mine for £560 for four days (inc test and theory - already passed theory though). Seems about average to be fair. |

Don't want to hijack the thread or anything but I'm interested to know what kind of bad habits you found that you had picked up Howling Terror? I've been riding more than one and half years now on my CBT and I probably have some bad habits by know. I'm don't think I'm dangerous or anything, just maybe getting lazy.
And if I had £600 laying around I would definitely take it up ____________________ will never give up his CG. I look at my fuel gauge more as a progress bar than a fuel gauge.

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston? |

Bad riding habits were(and some have returned)
Not checking mirrors when going from 30-40 zone
Not doing enough lifesavers really was my thing.
Getting my lane postioning better when approaching all junction types, and actually 'going around' a roundabout.
Forgetting most of the highway code signs (Blue circles and stopping distances FFS)
there are more but that'd be telling

Have you been riding regularly? If so you might find that 4 days will be too much really. I had only ridden on the roads to do my cbt but found the third day was pretty much wasted lol
I would certainly recommend some training though, module one you could probably pass without training as its all down to clutch control of the bike (but do all of your head checks!) but module two is a bit more, well, intensive. As previously said, its woth checking that you havent got any bad habits.
Good luck!! |

A 4 day DAS course takes someone from never having ridden a bike before to passing their test, so you shouldn't need 4 days of training.
Doing the test without any lessons is easy enough, look through the DSA book to find out exactly what it is the examiners are looking for, practice practice and then practice some more, if you fail the test then that will tell you what you need to practice some more, repeat until you pass.. The £600 for training would buy you a lot of attempts at doing the test. |

£35 per hour seems to going rate at the moment.
I paid around the ballpark of £600 for my A1 test in November last year. I don't know how things compare now because the test is across two modules.
Good Luck! |
