Hi im new here, iv just finished rebuilding my peugeot speedfight 100 and tuned every part of the engine. Its been starting after 1 press of the electric start. One night after it had been outside for about 2 hours i it was hard to start but i got it going then it cut out after a couple of seconds and wouldn't restart. When i press the electric start now it nearly starts but doesnt pick up, i have a spark and theres petrol coming through. I took off the barrel and piston and there was loads of petrol in the crank area, the petrol was black in the bottom for some reason. i drained it and still wouldnt pick up. The plug is soaking, Thanks for the help

Did you happen to change the cdi or ignition? Because of the immobiliser the chipped ignition key has to match up with the cdi & if it doesn't the scoot will start okay but wont rev up & drive.

im thinking theres oil getting in and mixing with your petrol.
You said you fully tuned it, i take it you stripped the whole thing apart.
Did you put all new gaskets in? leave any bolts out...because black petrol sounds like a mix of petrol and oil.

i stripped the whole engina, i putin new gaskets and had no bolts left over. It had been rumming fine for a week till now. Where would the oil come from? It won't be able to come from the gearbox would it?

Thats the only place it would come from i think.
Thats where you put the engine oil.. and if its mixing with the petrol its getting through somehow.

Not going to be an oil problem as the gearbox is at the other end of the engine and sealed, the two stroke pump could be incorrectly adjusted but that in itself would cause smoking not flooding.

It is likely to be a stuck float valve, or very rich jetting causing the engine to flood, or it could be the vacuum tap leaking internaly.

iv checked and the gearbox oil isn't getting through, i havent touched the cdi or ignition. The boke doesn't start, it nearly does but doesnt pick up. It was only stood for 2 hours so i dont know how it would be the immobiliser. When i tried to start it today it backfired. The timing can't be out in anyway can it? Im putting on a new fuel tap tomorrow because i had a lambretta one on before but it had been working with that on for months

It sounds to me as one of your crank seals has gone. My brother had the same problem. It floods the cases because it can't suck the fuel into the engine to burn. Also make sure your float valve is ok.
