New Firefox annoyance

Say for example i want to visit ebay, i'll type ebay in the nav toolbar & instead of just showing me one ebay link, it'll show me every ebay link i've visited, not only ebay but it'll show every site that contains the word 'ebay'

Tried downgrading to an earlier Firefox but i get the same thing. I'm pretty sure this is only on the last few versions?

Anyone else noticed this? Do you like it?

Opera gained the same "feature" a while back. And it is really annoying.

Interesting, i'd like to know why they thought this was a good idea, i'm sure most users are finding it annoying.

Going to have a search to see if anyone's come up with some sort of way around it.

It's called 'Awesomebar' but seems to be better known as 'annoyingbar' Smile

I actually changed the value to 1 so you'll get just 1 result.

You running Firefox 3.5? If so you can change it in the main options...

Cheers, already changed it now. Looking at it again, i think your method just removes everything so you won't get any search results at all.

Don't know why it is only just showing up on your Firefox as I disabled it way over a year ago. It has been out for ages, pretty certain it was intriduced with Firefox 2. The browser.urlbar.maxRichResults fix in the about:config is a well known fix. Confused

Awesome bar only came out with Firefox 3. I didn't used to have this problem in older Firefox's so never needed the browser.urlbar.maxRichResults fix.
