Looks like its between the nsr and the gt commet then. I dont supose the gt could have gtr fairings fitted or the gt have them removed for a while and still be rideable?

ahh well. it is a beatutiful bike no doubt. but i am a bit worried about the speed. obviously i will never go over 70 (or 50 probably seeing as i cant go on motorways) but i its got bad acelleration it might get a bit boring?

dont worry about the speed, it will EASILY hit 70, you are aware you can do 70 on some A roads right?

I have found a few nice nsr's on my site. Although I would be saying this because it is my site, but i'm proud of it as there is 100's of 125 motorcycles for sale new and used at really good prices. I read some of your motorcycle buying guide and found some very amusing tips. "the appearance of the owner is as important as the appearance of the 125 motorcycle." Whilst you might be an American, your market is British people so please don't use American spellings. If you're not an American than lol.

I'm not having a pop here but why is it that people just want to put others down all the time for trying, rather than be nice and give them some friendly advise? If you could let me know what I have spelt wrong and how it should be spelt, I would really appreciate it and correct it coz I don't want people thinking like you. lol. Anything to try and improve it as this site is my first and took me a very long time to do. Spent more time pulling out my little oxford from my back pocket than I did writing the thing out.

And yeah if you buy a bike through this site, I would get a small commision. Haven't earned a penny. haha!
Don't think I will if everyone thinks the same about the site as you do.

I do think though if you view a bike from someone who just looks dodgy then I would not buy it. Been done by someone before when buying a bike. Did not want to buy it as he looked like someone you just would not trust, ended up the bike had been stolen! Live and learn. You must admit though, there are plenty of 125 motorbikes for sale. I am trying hard bud.

Hi

Quick play with the figures and the GT125 and from the gear ratios I can find it appears to be geared for about 71mph at the red line (10500) in top. Even going up one tooth on the front would only put it up to 76mph.

Something faired. I was talking with the dealer and said i wasnt too keen on going to a 600 stragight away after my test because of insurance and would be happier derestricting a 2 stroke 125. At least for a while. He also sugested a nice 400 cbr wich looked grear but i havnt looked into it yet

Depends on the year and things. Have you tried the comparison websites? But a 400 is a good choice aswell. (Y)

I'm fairings for my CBR125 are £80 each original manufactouer parts. Keep it in mind, although I don't regret using a faired bike, it is a lot more hassel than unfaired.

In the end you will get all the experience you need on just about any 125 IMO. (Within Reason.)

Speed won't be much difference between a 400 and 600 because they will both restircted (For a while ) to 33BHP. My brother went to a 400 for 8 months before buying his CBR600. He thinks it was a help making the move to a bigger bike a bit smoother.

Well if you're thinking bigger bikes don't neglect the 500cc commuter class (i went 125->500). GS500, ER-5, CB500, GPZ500 (you can also get half-faired models of these for a good compromise between fairings and non-fairings - these half-faired models usually seem to be denoted by an 'S' tacked on the end of the name). They're probably cheap as or more than likely, cheaper to insure and run than the sporty 400cc and more beginner friendly.
And less likely to be imports, which i am scared of owning

And btw, that is an amazing CBR6 quote for a 17 year old. You must live in a pretty good area

wow thanks m8. tis true that bikers are the most generous of people . i would go through it myself but i had to lie on some parts (i.e. age as im only 16) and the next day got a phone call offering a better deal so im woried about doing it again (when i get the real insurance i will be 100% truthfully btw. i just wanted to see whether it was even worth thinking about a nsr)

How well do bikes age in general? If i get a old nsr will it be a case of giving it a Pgood service first but if i look after it from then on its fine or will it be troubelsome forever if it got thrashed by the first owner? Cheers
