Chaps,

After this year's blinding trip to Spain I was wondering if anyone would be up for similar next year?

I was thinking that around the same sort of time of year again, March/April?

Open to any ideas as to where - could do Spain again, could try somewhere else?

Whaddya reckon?

I'd be up for red tread again or another place. Still got 5 days holiday to use. Might go to Wales or something in the next coming months.

I like the idea of a trip to spain off roading, and i was going to try and sort something out so that i can go with my dad next year. March/April sounds good though, so i am possibly quite interested just depending on cash flow after christmas?

I've just emailed these guys about tour length, cost etc.

https://www.adventuromania.co.uk/

It looks like a similar set up to Redtread but I think the riding looks a little bit more varied.

If anyone else has seen anywhere promising then post it up.

Just had a reply

Quote:
Our package is 5 full days riding from as early as you want to around 6pm over single trails thru forests and up into the mountains above the forest line, the riding is challenging based on the groups experience, from easy to very challenging.
The area is 150,000 sqare miles with No gates or fences, 100% off road starting from our doorstep with no gravel road riding. You stay in our own guesthouse for 7 days with our chef serving home cooked food. Also included is fuel and airport transfers. £850 per rider with no hidden extras, the only other cost is beer and a snack at lunch, and £30 will cover that for the week.

Blimey it's expensive Shocked

The trip we did this year to Spain was much cheaper than that but shorter. I'll email him again and ask if they do a 3 dayer.

Had a reply

Quote:
Yes we also do 3 days riding with 5 days food, accom ect, same full package, for £570 based on a minimum of 5 riders.
Please bear in mind that i offer value for money and you can ride for 10 hrs per day if the group is up for it. I also dont hold back on the challenging type riding to suit the level of the group

That brings it down to Redtread's prices I think?

I'm sure a few people have done 'RTW' on XR600s, so reckon you should be fine Smile. Definitely quite a lot doing massive mileage on KLRs and (the old) F650s.

Riding is £555, Flights are £105, £100 spending money = £760

I still love the idea of going on an off roading bike holiday. I don't think i will ask my dad about doing something like this together, as he has been diagnoised with a long term muscular illness, so i wouldn't want him to try doing anything like that now really, even though he might like to.

I dont know the stage that some of you BCF guys and girls are at with off road riding, but basically i have done very little since 2002/2003, though i used to ride in trials and motorcross competition as a teenager. I suppose i don't feel as off road confident or have the ability that i used to, but then i havn't been on an off road bike for about 4years, so i don't know how much id still feel confident and able without trying i guess. I don't think you forget how to ride off road, but it's all about practice and keeping your hand in i suppose.

As for a trip if there is anything from May 2010 onwards i think based on a sub £800 cost ceiling that i would be able to cover it and definately be up for something like this. Would be a bit weary if everyone else is a serious off road enduro rider or if they all do regular MX or Trail riding, as i feel i have a bit of catching up to do really.

How many days is that? If it was timed over a weekend I could be a little tempted, but if not, probably good so I'm not tempted Smile.
