I hope you won't loaf at me, but I'm a vintage scooter addict...
Actualy, I'm trying to fit an NSR motor in an old Lambretta Li scooter.

Could you give me some information about the NSR125 motor ?
Actually, I'm looking for the sizes...

Thank's a lot !

Bonjour et bienvenue au forum. Vous serez intoxiqué à cet emplacement avant que vous le sachiez! Laughing

I have an NSR125, great little thing, and my dad used to have a Lambretta. I can't be of any technical help I'm afraid, but welcome anyway and good luck with the project! Thumbs Up

If its for racing I'd go for the rotax 123/124 engine used in the aprilia RS125. Its more powerful.

Can't help with sizing, but where does the engine go in a lambretta? If its under the seat and driving the wheel by a chain, then you should be able to fit pretty much any 125 engine in there - just make sure the gearbox sprocket is on the correct side.

the Lambretta Li (180cc) engine is mounted as part of the hub/wheel (like most classic scooters) and it would be Seriously difficult to get a bike engine in, also Li`s especally the two seat model are worth a lot so it would be a waste to fuck up.

It won't be my first Lambretta, I already have a GP200 with a TS1 racing kit and a Li with an Imola kit !
I think I can get better perf with a bike's engine.
A friend of mine has fitted a 350 RDLC in a Lambretta ! Wink

Right, I've knocked up a dodgy diagram with some sizes on for you. This is as its mounted in the NSR frame. Al sizes are in cm. The round blobs are the engine mounts.

It is 29cm wide at its widest point.

There was a company in the UK who, about 10 years ago, were building Vespa / Lambretta scooters (cannot remmember which) fitted with an RD350YPVS engine.

Now that could be fun!

All the best

Its around about 24bhp. Don't forget that the exhaust is very important in determining how powerful a 2 stroke is, unless you can fit the stock size pipe on you will lose power.

Have you also thought about fitting the gear change and radiator? That may cause you some problems.

No problem for the gear change... But I'm not sure where radiators could fit yet...
I also have to transform an old Honda rear arm (an iron one so I can cut it shorter an weld it) with 2 shock absorbers...
I've also got to find a peugeot SV scooter front fork with disc brake and adapt it... Cool

My project, if it works, won't be on weels before next year !
But I'll be able to say Middle Finger to most scooter drivers ! Mr. Green

Do you know some good dealers for cheap parts ?
cause in France... It's gonna cost me a lot ! Mad

[McJam]

For Honda parts try either ebay or www.davidsilverspares.co.uk. If they don't list a part on the website then give them a call or an e-mail.

Good luck! It sounds like you'll need it. Razz

After talking with friends, I decide not to use an NSR motor but a 250 CR Honda motor for my custom... Do you have any dimensions for this motor ? Cool
