It is my opinion that the grade of oil you use in a CG will never make that much of a difference. I've used the cheapest oil imaginable before now and as long as you have no leaks and it's changed at reasonable intervals (really good is every 1k miles, sensible is 1.5k miles and maximum is about 2k I would say) then you're going to be fine Thumbs Up

It's a CG. They are indestructible Laughing

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?

word of warning, I bought a litre of texaco oil, riding back from work the next day my clutch started slipping(my KH125), i just use castrol gtx 10w40, apparently has a reputation for causing clutch slip, but i'm on my third oil change and it hasn't started slipping(xj600).

I seriously recommend that you don't do this as it's honestly cheaper to head to morrisons etc. and spend ?2 on a litre of engine oil.
