Hi,

any Katana owners here? I need to drain my carbs since they have problably got some water in them but since I don't have a manual I'm a little clueless how I should do it.

I know the general process but if someone could give me some detailed advice on how to do it on a 600 Kat I'd be most grateful!

What do I need to remove apart from tank and the fairigs? What do the drain screws look like and where are they located? Do I have to dissasemble the carbs somehow or maybe take off the airbox?

Any help is grealy appreciated! Smile

I cant really help but i'll make two suggestions,

join a katana owners club - i know there is at least oe in the uk)
ask in there, no just this but manu=y other bits you will pick up on a model specific forum/club

buy a manual/factor manual - attempting anything without one is madness, and even if you dont need it now you will at some point, keep it on your bike/in your bag for an aa/rac man, theres a good chance they wont be able to do allot without it and thats not to mention torque setings

Both of these will make your life easyer at some point Wink Thumbs Up

Never specifically worked on a 600 kat, but carb draining is all the same process.

Turn the fuel off.

Undo the lowest screw on the carb float bowls. It helps to have a bit of plastic tubing connected up to the drain channel to stop getting petrol on your engine.

Let it drain for a few seconds, then tighten the screw back up.
