Hi all, in a few days im gonna start my bike lessons, great yes?

however im having trouble putting on my helmet, as i wear glasses, can't fit it over my head with glasses on, and if i take em off before hand then its a struggle to get them on, and even then they dont sit on my ears?

is there a trick to it or am i missing something?

Seriously though, option B. Take bins off, put lid on, put bins on. Carefully, I've poked myself in the eyeball before.

when i bought my first lid only shoei and arai seemed to be compatible with glasses.

the seams in the cheek pads were exactly where my glasses went.

time for a new lid

A) Wear contacts.
B) Get a flip up lid, and have the lid flipped up when you put it on..... or buy a Harley and wear a piss pot lid.

C) Do what the rest of us bin wearers do and put up with the hassle of lid on then glasses on.

Get yourself a shoei lid

Had a HJC and had a similar problem to you. With my new Shoei my glasses slip on quite easily and there's space to wear them comfortably

With sunglasses it makes a lot of difference how slim the ear bits are.
A further problem sometimes develops in that they are sometimes pressing into your head which can induce headache.
Also you might be bending the arms so they aren't right when helmet not on

It's a problem; so much so that I rarely bother with sunglasses anymore, so I'm pleased I don't need proper glasses.
Would it be impossible to remove some padding in the appropiate place?
I might have tried that with an old helmet.

Oh you're going to have so much fun with the radio ear pieces and your glasses when you're doing lessons. Those things were a bastard to fit in!

i wear contacts all the time, never wear my glasses on bike (or pretty much at all)

Make sure you buy glasses with straight arms. It makes a huge difference! Try it with a pair of shades and you will see what I mean.

I had to go with the flip-front lid purely for this reason, couldn't be doing with the take glasses off an on all the time. They're often more expensive, but hunt around, there are some cheaper ones out there. I got mine for £35 from Ghostbikes (bargain) but its an Arashi, and I haven't been able to find any info on them at all... Don't know how well it'll protect my noggin in event of crash.

I used to use a flip front helmet before I got my contacts. Prefer contacts a million times over specs. Those flip fronts offer about the same protection on the chin as an open face helmet...

I had a flip front.. i also wear glasses.
Gay thing was i got used to putting the helmet on with the front flipped up...
Now standard helmets seem a cow to put on!

All i did with my glasses was held 1 arm in my mouth, chucked lid over head, pull glasses out, flip lid down, slid glasses through... you can roughly feel where they go.
Having long hair helped me, padded them so they didnt move as much
