Poor pedestrian, had no chance. But glad he got through it. I think he will be a bit more careful now, and those damn red light runners Evil or Very Mad .

Two thoughts spring to mind:-

1)There is a God . . .
2)Why such a high definition, full frame rate camera was used? seems a little suspect?

It's probalbly a camera for catching red light runners. It would need to be hi-res to get the number plates.

Quote:
Dayton Police release dramatic video that shows an SUV landing on top of a pedestrian after a crash.

It happened yesterday at West Third and Edwin C. Moses.

There are cameras at the intersection to catch red light runners.

They show the victim walking in the cross walk when a car and an SUV crashed.

TheSUV then rolled over onto the pedestrian.

Police say it all started when the driver of a PT Cruiser ran a red light and slammed into the SUV.

At least one passerby wittnessed the crash and called 9-1-1.

Police say the drivers got away with minor injuries.

But the pedestrian, 43-year-old Scott Tegtmeyer was critically injured.

Now, prosecutors are taking a close look at the video to determine what charges the driver of the p-t cruiser could face.

Investigators say analysis of the video has already revealed some crucial factors.

Pollicesay the light had been red for 28 seconds when the p-t cruiser entered the intersection.

They sayTegtmeyer should not have been crossing the street at the time because the crosswalk signal was red.

Amazingly, investigators also say that themassive dent left on the side of the SUV, caused by the impact of the crash, created a hallow space that keept Tegtmeyer from being crushed to death as the vehicle rolled over him.

Tegtmeyer was listed in serious condition Monday night.

So far, no charges have been filed.

Yes the camera was placed there to catch red light runners, how can a person go through a red after it's been that for 28 seconds, totally mad. He's one lucky guy, it looks very bad.

And a camera of that quality was pointing at that junction for what reason exactly?

It does seem a high quality camera compared to most redlight cameras you see, they're usually black and white and often about 2fps not 24fps. But you can hardly claim it's faked footage so it's not an issue.
