Ducati bargain.

I nipped into Millenium Motorcycles in St Helens today to get some new grips for the Fazer and had a look round, down staris there were three brand new Ducati 900S' in matt black that apparantly have been there for a few years unsold.

They are all unregistered and have been reduced from £6999 to £3999.

I so wish I had some spare cash! That must be a bargain!

Does anybody know why these wouldn't have sold?

Because for the money when they were new, there were many better bikes that dont need expensive belt changes and have dont have dodgy electrics.

I thought the electrical gremlins were well back in the day? Belts are a good point though, and they are the wrong colour!

Hi

It is a 2 valve per cylinder engine. Belts should be a doddle. Probably about as easy as changing a Honda cam chain tensioner, but cheaper.

However in matt black they are the Dark versions, which were somewhat more cheaply specced.

They're cheaper because they are pants, POor spec'd and expensive to service. The only reason you would buy one is to say you have a Ducati. I don;t even think they look that nice.

The picture of the fully fair one is actually a 600ss to (only has 1 front disc.)

I've ridden a 750s Dark, the 'poverty' spec one...
I loved it - I found it to be very engaging to ride, you had to work it quite hard but that was part of the fun, it was a back to basics bike that handled brilliantly and had character.

I'm changing my bike this year, and a 900ss would be very tempting.

As a toy, it would be the Buell, but buying with your head, I reckon an SV would make more sense than the Duke.
