I'd say avoid Bennets. Apparently they are crap when it comes to claims, but when I tried to cancel my policy it took them ages to give me the refund. ____________________ My Flickr |

I avoid swindleton (swinton) at all costs these days after they shafted me over my car insurance last year. I got an online quote was a good price so took the policy, then when docs came through they'd get two letters in reg wrong so I called them to correct it and they wanted to charge me an extra £70! So told them to shove it and I'd cancel my policy ( not had the insurance more than 5 days) and for the priviledge of paying them £150 cunts! ____________________ I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. Had my GPZ insured with Bennetts, and although I didn't have any occasion to make a claim, the breakdown cover that was included was VERY good. ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

Give simply insurance a try. They're blinding for me.
My renewal;
23y/o, 2 claims to declare, 2 years no claims
k5 gsxr 600, all mods declared (exhaust system/PC3/odds n sods) for £260 comprehensive.
Where going through every other company was like £800-£1200.
Some of the guys phoning me up with "specialist insurance companies" must have thought I was lying, as after asking me what my best quote was (£260) then telling me they'd pulled up £850.
me- think i'll pass on that
them- do you want to take the referance in case you change your mind?
me- I doubt I'll turn stupid and decide paying £600 more is a good idea. So no, thanks. ____________________ Sahf East Winnah 4LYF

Iv'
e been with both; with Swinton atm for a policy I cancelled but they won't drop it and I'v just taken out a policy with Dial Direct, who are owned and run by bennetts.
Both con merchants, Bennetts refused to give me legal cover following an accident which I paid extra for, saying as I was at fault they're not obliged to provide the service. I argued for a couple of weeks that I'd paid extra for the service just incase something like this happened, they simply said 'it's in our terms sir'.
Swinton I took a policy out with early this year, then called to cancel it and was told ok, then got reminders through so called them, said they had no record and that I couldn't cancel now as outside my cooling off period - I asked if calls are recorded they said some are.... Anyhew I agreed to pay for what was covered so far; pro-rata like but they said I'm bound into the terms cosI agreed over the phone but since I work for a telesales company and speak to solicitors daily about verbal contract law I know my rights and they throw different objections at me.
Fact is I weren't referred to any terms, got no paperwork to sign and they don't have a recording of me agreeing so they have no leg to stand on. ____________________ Roger wrote: Women don't get damp for clingy puppies.
