Right, imagine that you're in an interview for a job you really want, and the interviewer asked you that (If I ever start interviewing, so help me god I'll be asking this).

You can't just say weed, snigger. You have to justify why the law is causing more harm then it is stopping. Without sounding like a hippy or a troublemaker Wink

I would say;

MDMA: It has a lot of known uses in psychological medicine, and it's incredibly low toxicity makes it a very safe tool, especially in cases of PTSD and Panic Attacks. Unfortunately, as it stands now, no doctors can provide it legally, there are no legal facilities to partake in a safe environment, and it's purity is almost always questionable (thus adding an unnecessary risk).

Driving on the wrong side of the road.

It would be so much easier to avoid all the crap drivers over THIS side of the road, if one could just drive ... over there ... *points*

... or on both sides at the same time Cool

I hate how it's illegal to "perform" musically in so many public places without a licence. It's completely B.S. Even if it's your own material that you've written etc. you can get in trouble (as I almost have before). It's stealing culture, making less talented street musicians and generally taking away my fun. I don't want to busk, I just want to play Sad

I'm sure there are many more interesting things people can think of (and I hate the 30MPH speed limit on certain massive roads in my town too Laughing) but it just really annoys me.

Why can't we say weed. It is the most commonly used illicit drug in the UK and very few numbers of those have any sort of mental or physical problems as a result.

I don't want to get into politics here but why does our government do what they thinks best (or not) for us and not let the people decide or issues like this. Rather than voting in a party and letting them decide everything, how about we vote in a party but on big decisions allow a public vote?

And while im on it...um dude I totally forgot what I was gonna say

Prostitution.
Not that i've ever or ever will require the services of one, mind you..
But the way is see it is that anyone wants to sell their services then its upto them, not a load of MP's (most of them have probably visited a lady of the night anyway.. Rolling Eyes )

If its legal then its not hidden away so much, which can only go some way to making sure they are kept relatively safe.

I meant you need to actually quantify you answer.

Silky... this you did not do. For shame.

It's not specifically one thing that's illegal that I would make legal, because then I would just say, driving fast. But I do think speed limits should be re considered, with all the stuff about 50mph NSLs being implemented, and the graph showing how less crashes occur at higher speeds (until you get stupid). I for one certainly know I concentrate a hell of a lot less at 30 than I do at 60, and at 60 than I do at 80.

Changing the speed limits up doesn't mean everyone has to drive that fast, you can drive as slow as you are comfortable. It just seems silly that nowadays more or less everyone drives at the speed limit (if they're not breaking it) and people who drive under it are extremely aggravating and often bullied around on the road. If the speed limit was higher people would concentrate harder and get places quicker, and... enjoy themselves *ducks for cover*.

It does seem to me that more and more the Government are using roads to make money from people rather than as a utility for travelling.

The whole smacking kids thing is ridiculous.
They need a clip round the lughole to appreciate right from wrong.

Pain works.
Telling them "Tarquin, that's a very naughty thing to do" doesn't.

Humans ARE animals.
We act like them in many ways every single day.
Most animals respond to a clump round the back of the head.
Whereas animals will deal with it in terms of sheer fear, humans (children) will either :

* grow up and realise they needed it at the time, cos they *were* being right little cunts after all, or

* grow up resenting it, and getting all bitter and twisted, and then think their parents were out of order, and ignore them for the rest of their lives.

* grow up resenting it and going off the rails, causing themselves to get locked up, horrible little scrotes.

Either way, that's a win:win situation for the parents, I reckon: Parent gets shot of a bratty upstart, or the bratty upstart grows into a decent sort of person.

Wink Thumbs Up

The fact that if you do so, you're abusing them and can be locked up for it, have said kids taken into 'care' and have red tape rule ever aspect of your life (depending if you decide it's still worth bearing); or the fact that you don't, they grow up with an unreal amount of disrespect and false sense of true belief they are beyond any reach of sanction. Question

I think hitting kids is allowable. The problem I think lies in what is reasonable. Ie, a smack round the back of the head is fine, but laying into them with a bat is going a bit too far....

Then of course there is the variation between kids, a clout that would only just get the attention of a little chubber might send a weedy little thing sprawling on the ground.

No doubt there is BS or an ISO for smacking kids, probably a certain force allowed per unit mass or something Laughing

We got hit as kids, very very rarely and never more than once that I can remember. Always an open hand too rather than a fist. Nothing wrong with a slap or two properly applied and not abused.

I think there are so many broken couples that its an easy thing to use to get at the other. Thus used quite redily.

Recreational drugs in general should be legal... Albeit in a controlled way.

Legalise smack/crack/weed/phet/coke etc, tax them to help reduce the national debt, give them on prescription to the skint smack-heads who steal off kids and old biddys, educate people about the real affects of drugs instead of trying (very unsuccessfully) to scare them off drugs by telling them something thats mostly bollocks.

It'll reduce serious crime through the import/distribution network. It'll reduce petty crime from the desperate users. It'll get more addicts into doctors surgery where they may get the help they need.

We've tried prohibition... It's not working. Lets try a new tactic. I'm not saying asda should stock crack next to the paracetamol, but I'm sure someone out there could come up with a system that is both safe and effective.

That and speeding. I'd be late to work less frequently if I didn't have to worry about triple figure mph on my commute.

the current ban on people having firearms

seeing as banning them has done nothing to stop criminals having access to them, infact more people have probably been shot since the ban then before it.

You should be allowed to drink and drive if you're charlied up too, which brings me nicely onto the fact that charlie should be legal, and so should shagging girls that look over 16 even if they're not. hahaha.

Apologies, I didnt have the time to quantify my statement and feel it may have caused some confusion.
Hitting kids is currently illegal .. you will get locked up, children removed, lose job, etc.
and I think it should be legal to hit your kids.

But, and here is the problem ... there is a difference between hitting and abusing.
The difficulty is how your define the crossover and enforce it .. so they just blanket outlawed hitting kids.

I spend almost every waking moment of my life doing things for my kids.
I go to work and nod nicely as some idiot boss spouts boll*x.
I ensure that they have the best area to live in and schooling I can afford. (and I would love to have spent the money on some new bikes thanks!)
When they are unwell or upset, I worry and make sure they are ok / protected / enable them to deal with it etc.
The list is endless.

But, when my darling little boy ... hits 14 ... turns to me and in a street slang stylee informs me that: "'I is gonna put a foot up your pinky old ass blud" ... all because I wont let him stay out at some all night fiddycent concert ...... then I reserve the right to give him a 'slap'. I dont want to be locked up or lose my job over it.

Assisted suicide. I know that sometimes a blind eye is turned, but that's not really the point. You should have the right to end your life without worrying. If you need to end it, it shouldn't be an offence. When you think about it, it's ridiculous.

Some of them diseases are torture for all concerned. Why prolong the depths of human misery?

Hi

Not sure I can think of one thing. I agree with many of the ideas above, but they are variations of the same issue. Over controlling of people in an attempt to protect them from themselves.

All the best

This isn't illegal. Because it never happened.

What they should make illegal is secret Bilderberg ninja agents installing giant magnets inside buildings - rigged with thermite and recreational nukes - and then dragging innocent planes into those buildings with the magnets before detonating the charges. They would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those pesky kids...
