I've never really been one for putting stickers on bikes so I'm looking for some advice. I guess I never really liked a sticker 'that way', but I've found 'the one' and I'm going to take the plunge this weekend.

My first thought was just to wash the bike and stick it on. However, after washing it I'm now also going to give the bike a polish and then a going over with an anti-corrosion spray (that leaves 'a thin film').

I wondered at what point I should put the sticker on? Obviously wash the bike first. Is it a good idea to polish the sticker as well? Probably not. Or to put it on pre-spray so that the film covers the sticker (this might hold the sticker on firmer, or it might damage it)?

Any help appreciated.

(BTW, it's a custom design with one of my favourite quotes done up in an Olde English font, due to go on the tank)

Don't polish the bike before you put the sticker on, the polish might prevent it from adhering to the bike.

Wash the bike, dry the bike, stick on the sticker and then polish carefully.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Cheers, should I polish over the sticker or around it? Same with the corrosion spray?

Spray some window cleaner on where you want your sticker, the stick it on. That gives you a little play with movement for a while until the cleaner drys.

Worked with mine.

Thumbs Up

If you want it to stick better, I found warming the panel/area up slightly with a hairdrier usually helps

wash the bike, then dry it and then try to warm the area up as best as possible before puttin the sticker on ...

whether this is just rubbing it hard, the mrs' hair dryer, heat gun it doesnt matter. the sticker will stick better and therefore last longer with the heat.

and be careful with the anti-corrosion spray try to not spray directly onto sticker!
