Tiger 955i

I've aquired a Tiger 955i in a deal that was too good to pass up and pick it up tomorrow. It's an 02 with 15000 miles on the clock I've never had a modern Triumph before so has anyone know of any issues with this bike?

Is there anything I need to do/check out other than the obligatory oil and filter change.

I had one for about 18 months, bought it new, never had any problems with the engine. But had quite a few niggling little faults with other stuff.
Fuel injection probs, was put into workshop under warranty twice to sort it.
Sidestand bracket started to bend resulting in sidstand switch cutting the engine out. Replaced.
Throttle cable constantly sticking, had to reroute it myself after Triumph couldn't seem to rectify it.
The plastic/rubber mounts that hold the rear light on are liable to perish and one day the rear light will just fall off.
If you have the Triumph hard panniers with it, they will leak like a seive.

I've not had a Tiger, but had 2 Speed Triples and never had a problem with either. I don't know what state of tune it is in the Tiger but the 955 is a lovely motor IMO, with bags of character and plenty of poke.

i had a sprint st and that's the same motor perfect bike Thumbs Up

mate of mine is on his second tiger and does huge miles 200 a day commute which is a couple of month's worth for for most sunny day bikers Laughing

Most comfortable motorway/distance bike I have ever ridden bar none. Comfortable riding position for hours, massive tank range 250+ miles.

Good load carrier, I transported a 14inch tv, a clothes horse, and two large hold alls on the pillion seat once.

Big effortless torquey engine, with more power than the chassis can really handle. No fun trying to hustle it with revvier more sporty flickable bikes though. For my limited skilled, it's too heavy for spirited riding, front end is too vague.

Centre stand is useful, but takes one hell of an effort to haul it onto it.

Triumph official heated grips are shite, don't waste your time with them.

Oil filter is a sod to remove as it is recessed into the engine casing from underneath, worth picking up the oil filter socket type tool.

Look after your chain and don't overtighten it. Brick Wall
