Noticed yesterday, when the bike was parked up and the engine was off, I sat on the bike and twisted the throttle, but it didn't snap back to its original position as expected, it just became sticky. When I rode the bike, it was fine, but again, when it was off, it was sticky and the throttle remains open. I had this once on the NSR, was found to be a fault with the throttle cable, is this likely to be the same thing?

Yeah, oiling the cables is not that big a job. id say go and get yourself a haynes manual .Is it gsx-r 600? they definitely do one for that bike.

the haynes manuals are great, ive learnt loads of stuff from mine, worth the 20 squids or so Thumbs Up .

Hi

Some cables have a nylon liner. The nylon liner swells when exposed to oil, so using oil to lube these cables wrecks them.

All the best

Keith

Sometimes it's as simple as the grip fouling the bar end plug. Make sure it's not slid along the throttle tube a bit.
