Cutting a lock off.

I currrently have my tail pack locked to my grab rail after putting it on and then loosing the keys.

I have 3 options:

1. Cut the lock off
2. Cut the strap
3. Cut my grab rail off.

What would you do?

Cut the lock, it's the only part that has been made redundant. Bolt croppers and it's off in about 5 seconds!

The only problem with cutting the lock is that my bike is laid up due to a smashed crankcase tight now. So it would be juniour hack saw.

Any ideas?

My keys are on a possible 30mile route.

I already tried getting the grab rail off. Sodding cheese bolts.

Thermite would work. But would it damage my paint?
I haveno access to a grinder of anything because they are at work and my bike is at home. With the annoyance of my paint.

Well it would seem that my luck has turned. I went out for a ride tonight down the same route. Stopped for a smoke and saw something shiny in the grass.

All in a neat little pile at the side of the road where I had a little sit down.
