Just bought the R6 still some time before i actually collect it, anyways been doing some research/searches on breaking in a new bike in.. and most people say to do it via what the manuel says, however alot of people also say that if u run her hard *well not too hard* just above the normal guidelines it will condition the bike better. Just wondering if this was the case?

Also when would be the ideal time to do the first oil change? as i was under the impression that after the ride back home from the dealers *60 miles in my case* would be a good time

Cheers people

Hi

I would say keep to the manufacturers recommendation, but do not be more gentle than that to it.

As to the oil it would depend. Some vehicle makers use a special oil in new vehicles to allow them to run in better. Doing an early oil change means loosing this oil and thus loosing its effect on running in. No idea if any bike makers use such an oil.

All the best

Keith
