Based on the D9 thread, I just watched this with a friend and thought it to be crap.
Sure it has its moments but with so many awards up its sleeve I expected much more.

Anyone else think it was shite ?

Utter crap. Completely and utterly predictable. Been done before.

I couldn't get over the crap plot. Perhaps if I could, then I could have perhaps tried to look at other parts of the film which would have been oscar-worthy.

Hurtlocker was more overrated then Superbad. I liked a few of the characters & the some of the situations they were in but they just didn't go anywhere with them.

I have no idea how it won so many awards.

It won more Oscar's then Saving Private Ryan.

I enjoyed it, but it really didn't deserve so many awards. Presumably the subject matter + female director was a big reason for that.

So many plot holes and inconsistencies. I just went through the film thinking, "well thats bullshit that would never happen" "Why would they do that, thats fucking stupid" "would never happen"

It was hyped etc, but I've seen worse. I was going to say I enjoyed the snip0ring; but the whole debacle of washing blood off the bullets was a bit meh.. surely the ak-weilding mofos would of killed you by now.

I liked the way the British guys were fucking useless but a couple of grunt bomb disposal yanks were suddenly expert snipers.

Funny how the enemy sniper shot the british guy, but then couldnt hit the yanks even though they were in the exact same position.

That whole part was a joke, I dindt understand it and the scenario didnt fit, I know there was a bit of story development but please, he hit a moving target from stupidly far away, judging by the ammount of time the bullet travelled your talking over 1KM or something stupid (Muzzel velocity of a 50cal is 853 m/s and it seemed to be taking over 1 second to reach target).

Dont even get me started on the enemy next to the goats who decided to take his time before shooting, "let me just get comfortable here for a bit in the sun while I line these guys up, it is a nice day today lalalalalala, oh I'm dead"

It was worth a watch, but i didnt rate it atall, its certainly no Black Hawk Down.

Worth a watch with the lads with a couple of beers but an OSCAR?

Film did not deliver. It was a classic case of all the exciting bits were put in the trailer, you could have trimmed it down by an hour and a half and still not lose much of the plot.
