Anyone got one or heard much about them? There are a couple of makes out there and I'm considering geting one.

Just a point on NOT wearing a hood up under your helmet.

I've heard horror stories of people doing it with waterproofs and coming off, the resultant slide pulls the hood back out from under the helmet, taking your scalp with it.

Not a bad price those hoodys, I tend to wear my offroading armour (like a mesh jumper with armour sewn into it) and a normal hoody over the top if the weather/occasion calls for it but I may get one for pottering to the shops etc Thumbs Up

Remember that you need to make sure you get the right ‘type’ of Kevlar – that designed to prevent knives won’t do well with bullets, so I doubt either of those will work well with sliding.

Almost all of my accidents on the road have just involved the arms being slid on. On the track I’ve slid along on my back/front a lot more. There’s still some areas unlikely to need much protection, such as under the arms etc.

While it means not taking a bulky bike jacket, I wonder if it’s actually any cooler for use in summer, etc.
Still tempted to try and get some half decent mesh/well evenlyventilated jacket to for summer use.

They're quite hard to find now, at least the proper mesh ones, however saying that I just searched on ebay and there's one on there now, so I'll keep an eye on it.
