With a 92 NSR you should not have any restrictions in place.

What is the top speed of the bike? is the 6th gear effective i.e. can you continue to accelerate on the 6th?

The reed block (the piece of plastic with the reeds stuck on) must be replaced as it is necessary for the normal function of 2-stroke bikes!

Check the carb to see if the throttle slide has any restriction.. i.e. does the throttle valve open up completely when the accelerator is fully twisted?

Also check the exhaust flange (the bit that sticks on to the engine), and see if there is a 'ring' inserted (welded) on to make the hole smaller than it could be.

Thats about it. Smile

well ive got the same bike as you do(91nsr) and i hardly ever use 6-th speed because it has no strenght.. and it doesnt accelerate.. maybe because i should replace my front sprocket(right now it is 13, i should put 14 i think).. and i was wondering why was that o-ring between the cilinder and exhaust pipe.. well ill take it off.. well wee what happens!

Yeah mine is 13 on the front sprocket too. The problem is putting 14 will make it accelerate slower, but give a better top-speed!! My 6th gear seems full power cause I've hit 90mph and still had more juice (i think i can hit about 100+mph). Check you rear sprockets too, these are equally important!

the o-ring is not in-between the exaust and cylinder, but welded onto the opening of the exhaust pipe (cylinder head end).

Good luck!!
Cool

i openen my silencer(nsr) and there was no muffler(dont know how its called in english). i thought it must be on every 2 stroke engine silencers, at least in motocross, i dont see any difference. and i noticed that one place where the silencer was weld is broken. should i buy a new one now or just repair it and put muffler in it?

maybe you got a pair of race pipes on! Anyhow the weld being broken does not sound too good. I would suggest getting it shown to a professional!

Cool
