i don't know if it's the way they do it but when i am in 1st gear and
i stop and try and click it into N it don't move (the lever) but when
i roll the bike forward it clicks on to N!! is this right because
when i first got the bike it was ok stopping and clicking it on to N
but now i have to click into N before i stop or i need to roll it, as
long as it's moving it with click up to N!!!

whats wrong?????
or is this ok??

i may be wrong but i think its a safety feature the back wheel must be spinning round to force some bearings outward or something to enable you to change gear. my bike used to do that. or you could try letting the clutch out to the biting point then it should clunk. every one else seems to think its your oil so dont quote me on what ive just said

Hi

Take off the fairing lowers. Take out the oil filler cap (on top of the engine near the carb). Undo the level plug (on the clutch outer casing). Undo the drain bolt (under the gearbox, pointing to one side), with something under the engine to catch the oil.

Let the oil drain out (will take a while). Put the drain plug back in place. Fill the gearbox up, until the oil comes out of the oil level plug (with the bike upright, not on the stand). Keep the bike upright until the oil stops dripping out, put the level plug back in and the filler plug back on.

Put the fairing back on and go for a ride

All thebest

Keith

Hi

The NSR has a little window to look at the level. It should be filled up to the upper part of the window

All the best

Thanks for that keith but i have a few problems Embarassed

I cant find where the oil filler cap, level plug, or the drain bolt... Im sure im looking straight at them but i dont know what they look like!

Does anyone have a nice labled piccy Confused

I can see like two bolt looking things that look like they need to be turned with a coin, one is higher than the other are these something to do with it all?

Hi

Those 2 plugs are undone with either a coin or a large screw driver. The one in the middle is there so you can access the clutch adjuster, the one towards the edge so you can check you have adjusted the clutch correctly

A bit further down on the same casing you should see a solitary allen key bolt (on the earlier ones it had something like "oil level" cast into the metal beside it). This is the oil level hole. With the bike verticle you fill the oil up until it comes out of this hole.

The drain plug should be visable from the other side of the engine (on the Rotax 123 engine, presume the 122 is the same). The is a large bolt, close to the centre line of the engine.

All thebest

Keith
