Hi all,

Been a while since I last posted but i've made quite a bit of progress on the bike. I managed to find a cheap replacement engine for it after the original bottom end was suffering from jumping out of second gear and the replacement has gone quite smoothly.

Last thing on the bike to sort before MOT is the rear shock. I thought i'd found one last year before i took a break from the bike but since going back to it this spring and actually bothering to measure the original shock the new one is not even close to being correct (original is about 260-265mm, and new is somewhere like 325mm?!) i dont expect to be able to return it to the place i bought it from last year but i'd look to sort it ASAP before i get frustrated and lose interest again. NS125 shocks are few and far between and all seem to be not what im after e.g eye connections at both ends (if thats the right terminology) instead of top eye and bottom hook as i need.

I've been told that the NS125 and the MTX125 share almost all the same components and have managed to find a few fairly cheap MTX125 ones on ebay that match the description (top connector = eye, bottom connector = hook) albeit the size is slightly off at 250mm instead of 265mm.

Does anyone know if this is going to work? Will the -15mm make much difference? Prices are around £50 compared to most (incorrect) NS125 ones of around £100 :/

Thanks in advance!
