Pc Simon Jenkin told BBC News Online: "This is a very quiet area, with very little crime, so I'd describe this as a significant crime.

If it's so quiet, why is there a camera there? Confused [/img]

I was driving home one night and sitting alone on the hard shoulder was a mobile speed camera, still with wheels and towing hitch attached.

Can't say I wasn't tempted. Mr. Green

yeah, but why does it cost £42,000 to replace it, yet only £34,000 to buy one new?

i'd actually love one in my room though, or on top of the stairs flashing people who run to the bathroom, lol

Maybe they are replacing the missing parts with official honda spares? Laughing

Laughing Yeah that's going to happen isn't it. Speed cameras, universally hated up and down the country. One of theirs is missing and they're stupid enough to think that anyone would be so small minded as to help them find it? Far from turning in the culprit/hero, I think they should give him a medal!

Three Cheers for our brave "safety and comfort camera appropriator"

On the Isle of Wight (where I am) there is only 6 fixed truvelo (I think that's the name - forward facing/yellow) cameras, and not one of them is in an accident blackspot! NOT ONE!!!! I've lived on the island all my life (29 and a half years) NOBODY I know can remember an accident at any of the places the cameras are, yes they are prime speeding roads, BUT there are also no-where near any schools or housing estates!!!!!
What the hell is the point of that???????
I don't think people would care if they went up near schools, but people are too sensible to speed near schools, so I guess the police/council wouldn't make any money? At the moment they seem to get sprayed with paint now and again! I have heard talk of these being taken down *ahem*, "unofficially of course!" Twisted Evil
Just really suks that these twats can't put them in the right place!!!!! - sorry lads, rant over! Rolling Eyes
