Can we have replies turned back on? I want to point and laugh at people trying to sell bikes privately for more than lower mileage dealer sales.

I believe that's the reason they were turned off.

Surely its better to let them know rather than leave them in a fantasy world without a sale?

So what was it about the for sale section that required censorship, in comparison to the general content of random banter for instance?

Person puts up ad for bike.

Other people post lots of 'oh no, it's not worth that, buy this instead, oh but you said xyz, here look I'm selling one too, lets discuss why the wookawaki is better than this, oh but my mate's mate got one for £1000 less than that' type of stuff and it ceased being an advert and started being a discussion, often one that went wildly off topic and could easily put off potential buyers.

It was people like me precisely telling them it was over valued, however sometimes it did have its uses in that questions plenty of people would ask were displayed like ebay at the bottom so the seller wasn't asked again.

I believe the turning point was somebody trying to sell a GS500E for with 76K on it for £2500 and people laughing at them.

Thats a good thing though in that a good deal = a good deal and nobody buys something vastly over priced.

It's also none of anybody's business apart from the seller and the buyer.

If the buyer has questions they'd like the opinion of 'the masses' on, they can post in GBC and receive plenty of them. The seller's advert is not the place for it to be discussed.

There was simply too much noise and dis-information being posted in people's ads, and that wasn't acceptable.

I like to think it was me that got the replies disabled. Mr. Green

Lot's of people on here have too much time on their hands and made selling a bike very difficult due to all of the timewasters.
